The long awaited and much anticipated new Performance Ford center rise exhaust systems are now available from Hardin Marine. Hardin adapted the same technology used to develop the powerful manifold systems found on Mercury Racing’s
HP500 and 540 Bulldog engine packages and integrated that individual separated runner design into this new Big Block Ford exhaust system. Hardin knew while perfect for direct replacement these also compliment today’s larger custom
Ford 500 CID plus engines. These engines require an exhaust system that not only scavenges, but can also expel the massive amounts of exhaust created by these larger engines while reducing exhaust back pressure to near non-existent levels. These manifolds are cast from pure T356 aluminum and then heat treated to a T6 condition. The final steps include hard anodizing for corrosion resistance and a gloss powder coated for a stunning appearance. Individual exhaust ports are cooled by a balanced and even water flow thru the manifold. Exhaust tailpipes are
available in a standard exit or custom applications and are constructed from quality 316L stainless steel.

THE ULTIMATE "FRESH WATER" EXHAUST SYSTEM
Finally an affordable alternative to all stainless steel water
jacketed headers. For the thousands of pleasure boaters "NOT" affected by the
corrosion problems associated with Salt Water there is at last the availability
of a true tubular header system for the Fresh Water boater. These headers are
designed to be a replacement for Mercury, OMC or jet manifolds. However, they
terminate approximately 8" aft of stock manifolds and are projected to meet the
exhaust tips providing they are in the stock location. Low Port Headers are also
available for under the swim step applications. Standard width headers will have
about 1/2" clearance between header and tall style Moroso valve cover. Headers
come complete with bolts, gaskets, water fittings, pet cocks, etc. (less 4" hose
and 4" hose clamps). Factory oil filter requires relocation.
THE LIGHTNING CONSTRUCTION DIFFERENCE IS WHAT COUNTS !
Our Magnum header starts with Mandrel bent 316L stainless steel interior
tubes. The exterior tubes are Mandrel bent heavy wall steel tube (.074). The
tubes are then mechanically etched by sand blasting and then assembled. Finally,
a corrosion resistant silicone ceramic coating is applied to the interior of the
header while the exterior receives a powder coat finish.

Through continuing research Lightning Mfg. has developed a Dual
Porcelain Coating that resists corrosive water environments. Now able to apply
the same high tech coating to the fresh water series of steel outer lined thus
aiding in the prevention cracking and deterioration.

engine cooling water with the exhaust near the end of the tailpipe That
allows you to use a 4" rubber hose connection to attach your transom
mounted exhaust tips This is the perfect replacement for your factory
exhaust system Oil filter, shift control, ECU brackets, gaskets, and bolts
included. 496/8.1 liter must order the optional installation kit.

systems are capable of maximizing the broadest low end and midrange torque, all the while yielding
incredible peak power gains. These systems are available in many configurations to fit every boaters needs.

all necessary mounting bolts, gaskets, and shift and oil filter brackets making installation a snap.
