Marine oil pans are subject to special conditions. Closed engine compartments create a lack of air flowing around the oil pan causing higher oil temperatures, which can destroy the lubricating properties of the oil in low capacity pans. The motion of the boat in the water sloshes the oil in pans that don't have correct baffling. Air is ingested through the oil pick-up resulting in momentary loss of oil pressure. The oil is tossed into the crank, which foams and aerates it. The pounding effect of oil in the pan cause fractures in pans without reinforcement.

solve the problem of excessive valve spring fatigue and failure caused by long
duration engine operation at higher engine RPM's. An industry standard in
all forms of professional racing can now be added to your engine that will
dramatically extend valve train life. The oiling rail systems are
available for both standard traditional valve covers as well as for the Keith
Eickert 2-piece valve covers. The oiling system rail measures 3/8" thick
and incorporates eight precision-metered oil-spray jets that distribute
additional oil towards each valve spring assembly. Simple single oil
inlets per rail provide easy plumbing.
